UPDATE: Branis is now 10 years old and has been thriving at Seed's Children's home these last four years. She is so happy, laughs easily and has lots of friends. We have so loved watching her personality develop. She is always close by when our teams are there. We are now in need of a new sponsor for Branis... Would you be willing to connect with her? We are hoping for someone that will reach out and write her letters - making that personal connection.

ORIGINAL STORY - Branis is 6 years old and the sister to one of our sponsored girls.

Rose is currently living at the new children's home and one of the older girls we interviewed back in April. At 15 she was at very high risk living in the slum. It was Rose's sponsor who brought to our attention that her siblings were most likely subject to the same dangers as Rose because there was an abusive step-dad in their lives.

Upon inquiring, our partners sent us an email expressing their great concern saying, "We need to find sponsorships because the situation is not good with those children"

We had a team in Kitale in November and took Rose with us to pay her siblings a visit. Upon arriving, little Branis came running up to Rose and threw her arms around her. It was obvious she missed her big sister a lot and that Rose had been the primary caregiver in the family. Things in the one-room mud home were a mess and it looked like Branis' mom had given up on providing for the children she smelled of alcohol and didn't even speak with Rose during our visit.

Branis doesn't currently go to schools because there is no money for her education. She often goes hungry and has very little clothing. We were not able to spend time interviewing Branis, so her likes and dislikes remain a secret. Our photos were taken in her home rather than at our normal location in the school we have thrown our formalities out to try and find sponsors for Branis and her siblings as quickly as possible.

Our heart is to connect her with a sponsor that will find out all her little secrets and let her know there are others out there that love and believe in her. Just think a sponsorship will change her life, it will put her in school, reunite her with her sister Rose and remove the worries of where the next meal or drink of clean water will come from sounds kind of dramatic and it is!

Built on love and hope.
