Desmond is a survivalist - his parents use to constantly fight and eventually got divorced. His mom then promptly disappeared and he has been living in the slum with his father since. His dad has been unable to hold a job and is unable to support Desmond. So he's been doing the best he can on his own. We've known Desmond for a couple years, seeing him at Seed's Academy when we visit. He has longed to come to the children's home so he wouldn't have to fend for himself and deal with the hardships of living in the slum. Lately things have gotten very difficult for him and he has missed school to find small odd jobs in order to buy food. His little sister Debra is already at the children's home and she is concerned about Desmond too. So the decision has been made to bring him to the children's home. Allowing him to receive his basic needs, be close to his little sister and have a better chance at finishing school and have a successful adult life. We are excited to have him HOME.
