UPDATE #2: Diana is now 22 years old and in her second year of college studying business. We're excited to see her continuing to succeed and move forward with achieving her dreams. We plan to help Diana finish college and are looking for a new sponsor to walk along side her for the next couple years as she finishes college. Sponsor funds will be used to help meet her living expenses, housing, food, phone and internet data. UPDATE: Diana is now a beautiful young lady. At 17 she is doing well in High School and has thrived while living at Seed's Children's Home. She's one of the first to come find us when we are visiting Kitale - wanting to engage in conversation and asking lots of questions about life in the U.S.
ORIGINAL STORY:Diana is an adorable 13 year old girl who dreams of being a lawyer and, someday visiting America. Her mother has passed away and, as she describes, her father just "drinks and drinks." Diana and her siblings stay with her grandmother who is too old to provide for them. Diana has tried to find jobs in order to work to be able to pay for food and school, but it is difficult. She tries to blame herself for the troubles she has but Hellen encourages her to hold on to her faith and be strong. Diana hopes she and her siblings can one day live in the orphanage and have a better life and follow their dreams.
