This is Doricus, she and her sister, Florence have known hardship and want their whole lives. Mom left the family when they were very young, and no one has seen or heard from her since. In 2017 their father passed away from disease and the sisters went to live with their grandmother and an uncle. It was all they could do to care for the girls along with their uncles family. Then tragedy hit again in early 2020 when their grandma passed away too. Life has been so hard - with the pandemic limiting work and schools closed these sisters barely had enough to eat and very little clothing. A local social worker became aware of their situation when they did not report back to school at the beginning of 2021.
Our partners were asked if they could step in and help. Their story was so heartbreaking, how could any of us say no. SO - because their situation was so dire they have come to the orphanage without sponsors. Now we're looking for a family or two that would jump in and sponsor one or both of them.
