UPDATE: Joram is now 14 years old and has been at Seed's Children's home for 2 years. He has excelled in school, loving the chance to get an education and not having to think about how he is going to survive another day. He's in the 8th grade this year - so he will sit for his national exam in November - passing this exam will allow Joram to move on to high school. The better he does on the exam the better quality of high school education he will qualify for. So it's a big year for him. Joram's current sponsor has had a life change in their family and is not able to continue sponsoring him. They have connected with Joram and let him know - and asks us to help find this amazing boy a new sponsor.

ORIGINAL STORY: Joram lost his father years ago, and last year he lost his mom. At 12 years old it's been really hard for him, he's not quite old enough to know how to support himself and he's not young enough for others in the slum to think he needs help. Joram is a really good student but over the last year his grades have suffered a lot as he deals with depression and very difficult living conditions. Our partners have seen the change and started checking on his home situation, it has become clear that Joram is suffering greatly living in the slum with no real parent or family members to help him and we have been asked to find him a sponsor.
We have deemed Joram a High Risk case and really need to find him a sponsor as quickly as possible. We've told our partners to bring him in as soon as possible. We would love to find him a sponsor that will write him letters, lots of letters, to encourage him and let him know that there are others that care about him and want to see him do well in school.
