UPDATE: Juliet has become such an amazing friend to all of us at Mighty Acorn Foundation. Ever since we've met her she has been so helpful, working hard as one of our best translators as we work with the younger children at Seed's Children's Home. She is now 15 years old and in her first year of high school. She loves school and is studying really hard. ORIGINAL STORY: Juliet is eight years old and wants to be a doctor someday. Her sister, Sherri, is already living in the orphanage. Juliet lives with her father in the slums, but there are many nights when her father is not home and stays elsewhere, leaving Juliet scared and alone. She has little to no food each day, other than what she eats at Seeds Academy and goes to bed hungry each night. Juliet cries when she tells us how much she misses Sherri and how badly she wants to be reunited with her again. Juliet spends a great deal of time alone in the slums, hoping she will make it through another night. The only time she is safe and secure is when she is on the school grounds. Despite her pain, sadness, and fear, only a single tear fell from her eyes during our talk.
