Michael - love that smile! For a child that has been through so much hardship a smile like that always amazes us.
He lost his father when he was really young and his mom remarried right away she now has 3 more children with her new husband. His step dad feels no responsibility toward Michael and refuses to let him eat with the rest of the family. So he relies solely on the food he receives at school the staff even saves him left overs when there are any and sends them home with him as he leaves school sometimes. He goes without shoes and wears his school uniform most of the time.
Michael has been a great student at Seed's Academy placing in the first or second spot most of the time in his fifth grade class. Recently with more difficulties at home his grades have been slipping he desperately wants to come to the children's home were he can join his two older sisters who were sponsored a couple of years ago and live in peace. He dreams of being an engineer one day and with a little help from a sponsor he has the smarts and determination to realize that dream.
