Beautiful Stella, she's only 12 years old but has had to grow up fast helping to care for her sick father and her four younger siblings. Her father suffers from Aids and has recently lost the use of his legs, now paralyzed from the waist down he is no longer able to work and provide for the family. It appears that he only has a few months left to live.
She has had to help her mom hunt for food, picking through trash, just trying to find enough for everyone most nights they all go to bed hungry. Stella's family lives in a mud hut deep in the slum, in an area we are not allowed to go into because it's not safe. Stella's situation as become desperate and it has been determined that she and her sisters and brother need to get out of the slum and into a safe place where they have a bed to sleep in, food to eat and clothes to wear.
