Lovely Elizabeth is 17 years old and is the older sister of Maurene. She has finished 8th grade and is hoping to continue her education,but has no funds to do so. Elizabeth's father left home five years ago leaving Elizabeth, Maureen and five other children alone with their mother in the Kipsogo Slums. Elizabeth's mom has struggled to earn a living and provide for her children. When Pastor Richard and Hellen learned that her mother could not afford to send her to high school (Elizabeth is too old to attend Seeds Academy), she was brought in to Seeds to learn how to sew and repair school uniforms. This also allows Elizabeth to eat lunch each day. Elizbeth speaks English extremely well and with confidence, and dreams of the chance to be able to attend high school in Kitale and, one day, come to America to attend college.
