This sweet girl is Stacey, she's 9 years old. We met her on our last trip to Kitale. She and her sister Avirl have recently been rescued from the Kipsongo slum. Their father passed away a few years ago and they have been living with their grandmother. We've heard their mother is dealing with a mental illness and no one seems to know where she is or how she is doing. Avril's grandmother was recently diagnosed with cancer and has become seriously ill. The local children's department brought the girls situation to our partner's attention. Hellen immediately took the girls into the care of Seed's Children's home and is now in need of a sponsor for each of them. While in Kitale, Stacey was "ever present" with our team. She was a constant shadow for DW every day. She is precious, kind and smiles very easily. She carries a sweet confidence for one so young, especially with all the loss she has experienced. Stacey has been asking Momma Hellen "Who will be my sponsor? Do I have a sponsor yet?" Then she says: "I am praying for my sponsor already".
